Yesterday was a very happy day!! I took my first ever MTB Marathon victory in a national series race inSweden!!

As a roadie I have struggled with the hard and fast starts at the MTB races and lost valuable placings in the big groups among the men and never been able to catch the front girls. Yesterday I gave my everything the first 10 kilometres to make sure I was going to fight for the top spots! I was together with one of the best mountain bikers in Sweden after about 3km and sneaked in just in front of her on a single track, I pushed hard and turned around after awhile and did not see her. I never got any time reports, only that I was in the lead, so I pushed hard the whole race since I expected her to come and pass me at any time.

I was first over the intermediate sprint after 36km and the hill sprint after 46km but I still did not dare to hope for a victory until I crossed the finish line. I ended up winning by 7 minutes! This is my biggest win ever on a mountainbike!
