It was a really hard and challenging race, we did 8 laps on a 13km loop that included 2 hills, one that was very steep! The first hill was only 1 km into the race, two girls got away straight away on the first lap and no one was interested in chasing. On the third lap me and two other girls got away and could go up to the break away, so we now became five chasing. We worked well together and stayed away for 3 laps before six girls came up to us. After a little while 3 got away again and we also dropped a few more. It ended with the three in front racing for the medals and six of us racing for fourth position. I had two team mates in the group and we tried to attack with five kilometres to go but we could not get away and we had nothing left when we came to the finish.
I am very happy with my race, maybe not the place but with how it felt and unfolded. My legs felt good and I never had to suffer up the hills. Among the nine of us that were in the race to the finish it was seven professional girls so I am happy that I could stay with them without sufferingJ
I got ninth in the end and I am happy, on the time trail I got 10th and am very disappointed, so it is not always the place that tells if I am happy or not, it is the feeling of how it went.
