Yesterday was the Swedish Time Trail champs and it was going to be fun to race against tough competition since I’ve mostly raced in Sweden and Denmark this year where the competition has not been as high. 9 out of the 10 Swedish UCI professionals where at the start line, so this would be good measurement.
It was a flat course, back and forth on a highway four times, so a bit boring but very challenging since it was tough in the headwind one way. I got into a good rhythm from the start and felt that I could keep the pressure on the pedals the whole way. Everything went well and it felt good, that can sometimes be because you have not given your max (TT is not supposed to feel good, it is supposed to hurt like hell) so when I came to the finish and heard that I was 48 seconds behind Emilia and only 8 of the 32 girls had finished I did not think it was that good. But it turned out that Emilia had done a super good race and won the gold ahead of Susanne Ljungskog (double world champ) and Emma Johansson (Olympic silver medallist). My time was good enough for a 4th place behind those world top riders. I am happy with this, also since I had good TT riders behind me. On top of this me, Marie and Catrine could defend our gold in the team competition for Alrikssonscykel.se!

It was a long day in the car, 8 hours, since we decided to drive there and back on the same day, it was worth it so that I can be at home now for 2 days to recover and prepare for the road race on Saturday. So a big thank you to my dad and brother who came with me to be my back up during the race!
